our Journey

Our Previous Project
VoxCounts wasn’t made overnight. It’s the evolution of our ongoing dedication to giving nonverbal students a voice.”
Social Emotional Tri-Fold Poster (2025)
Our first project focused on helping nonverbal students express emotions through a tri-fold poster featuring emotion envelopes. Each envelope contained flashcards with practical strategies for managing feelings using color psychology and visual aids designed specifically for nonverbal learners.
This project taught us a valuable lesson: students needed more than emotional tools. They needed comprehensive communication.”

The Emotional Wheel of Colors
We developed a color wheel that mapped emotions to specific hues, helping students and educators understand the intentional color choices in our visual communication system. Each color is deeply integrated into the tri-fold poster and inside the envelopes on our flashcards.
Our Current Project
VOXCounts AAC tool (2026)
Building on what we learned, we partnered with Galveston ISD speech pathologists to create a full Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) solution. VoxCounts gives students 12 categories of communication, ranging from asking for help to participating in class discussions, and more.
